Day 1 : Basel
Join the train at Basel SBB for a 6:20hrs departure and travel via Aarau and Zürich towards the Bodensee. While enjoying coffee and croissants, the journey continues towards Germany, crossing the Rhine at Konstanz. Over Radolfzell and along the Bodensee you travel towards Friedrichshafen and further on to Ravensburg and into the Allgäu. En route, luncheon is served at seat. Past lush meadows and dreamy Bavarian villages and churches with their distinctive onion-shaped towers, through Buchloe until reaching Augsburg at 16:00hrs. After checking in at your hotel, you may visit the engine shed for an interesting TEE exhibition “A Legend of Rails". In the locomotive hall a fine “steam locomotive dinner" is served. Overnight stay in Augsburg.

Day 2 : Augsburg
There is an interesting guided walk in the morning of this third largest city in Bavaria. The title “most northerly Italian city" is shared with Műnich, while the influence of the many beautiful renaissance buildings is especially distinctive. The birthplace of Leopold Mozart (father of the musical genius Wolfgang) and Berthold Brecht, it is also the home of the influential Fugger family and many other people such as Martin Luther. The remainder of the day is free time.

Day 3 : Augsburg – Ulm – Switzerland
After breakfast there is a walk to the station and departure at around 09:00 for a short journey in the special train to Ulm. Arrival is at 10:30, so there is free time for a visit to the city centre with the famous Minster. Especially famous for the imposing tower which equals the highest in the world at 161.53m, this Minster is also the largest evangelical church in Germany. You can climb the tower to a height of 142m up 768 steps (4 Euros). At 13:30 the special train continues over beautiful branch lines past Riedlingen and Sigmaringen to Singen. During the journey through the picturesque countryside of the Schwäbische Alb – formerly also called the Schwäbische Jura - lunch will be served at your seat. The line follows the Danube and you will cross it several times before Tuttlingen. Return into Switzerland via Konstanz –Kreuzlingen to your joining station and the end of the journey at 19:30hrs.
